Have you ever thought “Hey! this game would be really nice in my fancy PS Vita!” – well, you’re in luck! VA-11 HALL-A is going PS Vita thanks to the folks at Wolfgame who will take care of the port shenanigans.

More details to come soon but what I can say right now is that we are going to take advantage of some of the Vita hardware for super cool (and optional) bartending gimmicks and features exclusive to this version.

Excited?

Ok so the CTC is not there yet but the progress using Game Maker has been really great, we could even add some lipsync without the game glitching out like it was happening with Ren'Py when using Drag and Drop. The thing I like the most is the proper pixel scaling though, when Prologue goes full screen while using big monitors it becomes a blurry mess but that doesn’t happen anymore.

By the way I figured I could just update with tiny stuff everyday like before, not everything has to be long explanations of semi-interesting things, right? Let’s just post cute gif progress and all that.

A succesful launch!

About VA-11 HALL-A: Prologue

“On a slow night you’re informed that the bar you work at was booked, an uncommon event by itself… but not more uncommon than the actual "people” who booked the place. Gladly, there’s a very special couple there to keep you sane with the most interesting stories about a city that never sleeps, all with different perspectives about how life in a cyberpunk post-dystopia is all about.“

It’s just $4.99, if you already purchased the game you can claim it at your itch.io’s downloads page, if you happened to give $7.99 or more you’ll get the soundtrack as well, sorry for not telling you that until now! but the idea came up very recently, if you want the soundtrack separately you can get it on Garoad’s BandCamp, just $4.99.

What now? Well, we are working hard on porting all the assets and code to another engine. Somehow, Ren'Py ended up being more of an obstacle for us because we wanted to add more animations, effects, and all kinds of fancy things but the nasty, poor performance and frustrating limitations we found while using this popular tool for Visual Novel developers made us jump ship to Game Maker. We are aiming to lauch the final product by December.

What can you expect in Prologue?

  • Around an hour and a half of gameplay.
  • Two full-fledged customers you can talk and interact with.
  • No several endings because the game ends where the main game begins.

And remember, the purchase of this Prologue version gets you access to the final game. If you can’t claim your Prologue copy on itch.io, PLEASE send me a mail at kiririn51@sukeban.moe

Oh and we have wonderful news…

VA-11 HALL-A is being published by the folks at Ysbryd Games!

Yay! that’s right! we now have a very cool partner that will help us to get this game done and we couldn’t be happier. We can now further polish the game and get more people to play it, please be excited! I know I am lol.

Ysbryd Games is a new cool publisher with some amazing people at charge, you can know more about them at their website.

We have even more exciting news for this little big game in the following days, I’m sure some folks that love playing on the go will totally dig it.

What up guys.

What up guys.

Feedback has been great so far and we’re currently adding some extra stuff you suggested, as well as fixing bugs… so we should be launching the commercial version for the Prologue as soon as proofreading is done, it’ll probably still be $5 – same price as pre-purchase and will of course include the full game when it’s out, sort of a Ground Zeroes but done right, and an early bonus for people who already bought the game, thanks for supporting!

About the full game:

The transition over to Game Maker will be a bit bothersome programming-wise but we are confident we’ll have everything ready sooner rather than later, in the meantime I’ll step up with some nice art for the extra characters that will appear. You know the cute clients from the prologue? That will be present for the full game but with humanoid clients that are a tad more fleshed out, they won’t be randomized this time though because that actually made things a bit boring in the Prologue, thanks for making us realize that!

So, that’s all for today, see you gals around.

By the way, pictured above is one of the characters for the full release, drawn in a very 90’s style, would you like the game going in this (even more) retro style or should I keep the current one?

HEY

The next post will be about me announcing the test prologue build is in your inbox, I swear.

Thing is, we’ve been polishing the presentation a lot, it’s like we need the game to look good even if it’s for a test build, so we hope you appreciate that.

Thanks everyone for your support by the way, it means a lot to us!

This is the Supervisor, if you follow Kiririn51’s works you may know her as his mascot character, she’s pretty much in every game we make.

A lovely lady, she can be incredibly harsh but she’s actually pretty nice, likes cute things and doesn’t hide it, be a bad employee and you’re out without hesitation though. She lost an arm in a fight, you can’t see it right there but she has a pretty cool bionic arm, and nobody gets funny in VA-11 HALL-A – even the mercenary from the prototype, Jamie, is scared of her, can you imagine the level of badassery?
