“Anthropomorphic moe boats”. That sounds weird, I mean… can something be moe without being anthropomorphic or capable of speech at the very least? I mean sure, you can find things cute without them having the slightest semblance to a human being, but moe kinda relies on the fact that it looks human-like somehow. You could argue a furry character can be moe, but moe means that something shows certain human qualities, usually weakness in any form. So even furry characters need some human things to them, like facial expressions or being capable of speech. So the word “Anthropomorphic Moe” doesn’t sound right because it can only be moe by being anthropomorphic (which means it has “Human characteristics”, any). “Moe Boats” sits a bit better because including the word “Moe” and knowing the japanese trend of cute anthropomorphic personifications of random stuff can give one an idea of what to expect from said prospect. That does bring the question though, could a boat be moe if it was represented with a human face like in Cars or the Putt Putt games? Moe has an implicit sexual undertone, so calling those moe instead of merely “cute” would mean you could feel potentially turned on by such boats, which is quite the niche so I don’t think further clarifications are needed. In any case the wording would be “Humanoid moe boats”, which if taken literally it’s pretty close to the same as anthropomorphic, but humanoid suggest more of a human shape instead of just human qualities to them.
“Play with [my] anthropomorphic human boats” has to be my favorite euphemism now though. That said, however, we don’t really play Kancolle firsthand. The whole login lottery and reading the changes to VPN and whatnot became a huge turn-off that made us test all the other porn games DMM has, like the Taimanin Asagi one. Really, one has to wonder why Kancolle isn’t an outright porn game considering it’s hosted at DMM, but I guess that would’ve made it even more niche than it already was. I still find it funny that Niche is pretty much how you pronounce Nietzsche’s name, but not as funny as how people have come to use Nietzsche as an example of Nihilism when it’s pretty clear he was more of an existentialist person. Just look at his concept of the
Übermensch, which can be summed as the logical extreme of the Existentialism where someone is so driven by their individual
raison d'êtres that it becomes hard for people outside to understand the meaning behind their actions. But then again, Søren Kierkegaard’s tenet of
“Once you label me, you negate me” means that one might be confused easily as an existentialist by accident. That said, you could argue that you can confuse anyone as anything given the right context and seen through the right lenses, so good ol’ Nietzsche could be considered a postmodern absurdist if you only see specific samples of his work. It’s also interesting how Nihilism became an actual thing after all the discoveries the Enlightment brought upon, funny how enLIGHTment brought with itself something as dark as nihilism.
What I’m trying to say here is that Musashi is pretty hot.
