Quick update

Because I hate radio silence, it’s time to write something.

First of all, I’m sorry everyone, this isn’t a release date announcement. I know, that’s super disappointing, but let me explain ourselves below.

The game is currently 99.9% done, that means all content and features are ready, and what’s left is *just* quality assurance. Please keep in mind that polish is a super important aspect for us, because as gamers, we like it when games just work at launch without glaring technical issues. I hope you understand our compromise with delivering a working piece of software, so you can enjoy its content without trouble.

That said, I also apologize about that one December post. We miscalculated the amount work we still had ahead of us back then, and we honestly thought it would be a very quick affair… however, it turned out to be the exact opposite. We’re very, very sorry for that, we won’t ever play with your heart like that again ;_;

Going back to release dates… We’re going to be brutally blunt: We won’t reveal a date until the game is 100% rock solid, an unbreakable diamond. We don’t want to promise a date we’re probably going to miss because of another miscalculation from our part, we rather be super sure the game is shippable before announcing anything.

THE BRIGHT SIDE: I don’t think we’re far away from being 100% diamond is unbreakable. The last QA report (with more than 600 motherfucking entries, most of it being typos and grammar fuck ups) was solved and we’re currently waiting for a last round of QA, which includes the Mac and Linux builds so we can launch them simultaneously alongside Windows.

We’re almost there, familia, we just need your support more than ever, and with support I mean nice words via inbox or email, not really money (although that’d be cool too).

PS: Waiting for QA leaves quite a bit of free time, so we might prototype short kusoge in that empty space. We hope you don’t mind if something new shows up at our itch.io account.

Small update

I know we’ve been silent for a bit, especially considering we’re always answering questions or posting stupid shit on Twitter. However, that’s because we’re pretty much wrapping up this thing and want to focus mostly on that.

Things left to do:

  • Get rid of bugs
  • Proofreading
  • Illustrations for the opening and ending sequence (see the .gif above)
  • A few extra faces

After that is releasing the game! We still plan to rope in some early supporters for a closed beta test, but it might be very brief considering the nature of this game. We’ll keep you in touch.

Our next post will contain the release date announcement, so you better refresh this devlog endlessly until tumblr crashes.

So I read this thing about programming spaghetti, breaking the prologue and stuff and how surprised you are nobody figured out how to do it yet. You made me curious on how to do this and what will happen 「(°ヘ°)

Good lord, remembering the Prologue code actually made me cringe. It’s not so much “breaking it” because the game could still go on. But it’s a MAJOR overlook while coding the whole thing and bad design in general.

Of course we fixed all the issues we’re about to talk about in the public demo you can grab for free right now. In fact, that demo is the best idea you can get about how the final product will end up being.

Anyways, without further ado…
